Portraits and Stills

The cyanotype collages of Portraits and Stills celebrate the intertwined histories and material qualities of paper and fabric. By printing cyanotypes of Portuguese textiles and incorporating natural dyes, I merge photographic traditions with the tactile richness of textile arts. This approach bridges ephemeral light and enduring fiber, creating works that embody both delicacy and resilience.

Sustainability and experimentation lie at the heart of my process. I repurpose scraps from previous cyanotype projects—offcuts and remnants compose new narratives of plants, figures, and landscapes. These fragments, each with their own history, become building blocks for layered compositions that evoke the interconnectedness of human and non-human forms. Through playful arrangements, I explore themes of transformation and interdependence, inviting viewers to see beauty in what might otherwise be overlooked.
